You may not have heard of David Reynolds, but you’ve probably heard his music.

Reynolds’ music has underscored the action and punctuated the comedy in blockbusters including The Bubble, Yes Day, Daddy’s Home 2, Wanted, Get Smart, The Sorcerer's Apprentice, G-Force and The Guardian where he has written alongside A-list composers Danny Elfman, Trevor Rabin and Mike Andrews.

Reynolds has also contributed music to several of Disney’s hit television series including Hannah Montana, Ant Farm, Dog with a Blog, Stuck In The Middle, and The Villains of Valley View. In addition, he has scored numerous other projects including award-winning indies, projects for HBO and Sony Pictures, and acclaimed documentaries and shorts.

Reynolds learned the art and craft of film scoring from some of the world’s best.  His first job in Hollywood came from Academy Award-winning composer Elmer Bernstein.  Bernstein hired Reynolds after teaching and mentoring him at USC’s Scoring for Motion Pictures and Television program.  Reynolds’ on the job training continued as he worked for composers Mark Isham and Chrisotpher Young.  With Young, Reynolds contributed to 18 films over a six year period.

Prior to moving to Los Angeles, Reynolds cut his musical teeth in his hometown of Minneapolis, writing music for advertising and industrials, first at Martian Bastian Communications and then as a partner at Across The Tracks Music - a Minneapolis based commercial music house whose clients included McDonalds, Burger King, Ford Trucks, Target Stores, Arby's, Blue Cross Blue Shield, Polaris, Lee Jeans, Norwest Banks, and General Mills.  Reynolds and his Across The Tracks Music partner Bob Jenkins released a commercially available album of their advertising music with EMI in Japan entitled “Dave Reynolds and Bob Jenkins CM Graffiti”.

Since moving to LA, Reynolds’ work has not been limited to film and television music. He has created two albums of trailer music for BMG’s Selectracks. The first track released, “Requiem of the Gods,” was immediately licensed to underscore the entire high-profile Star Trek Into Darkness International Trailer, a Golden Trailer, Best Action Trailer nominee.  Reynolds has also written commissioned concert music for the internationally acclaimed Debussy Trio, co-written and co-produced an album for Japanese singer Mona (on the EMI Japan label), and collaborated with artist Lexi Leon and legendary record producer Eddie Kramer (Jimi Hendrix, Led Zeppelin, Kiss) on Eternal Descent, a graphic novel inspired project.

FUN FACT: Reynolds was hired to create all the melodies and motifs used by the Tile product line and phone app - the world’s best selling bluetooth tracker, with over 30 million sold worldwide!

When not composing, Reynolds continues following his passion for film and tv music. In collaboration with director Gregory Ruzzin (professor at Loyola Marymount University’s School of Film and Television), Reynolds created “Scoring For Filmmakers,” a graduate-level guest lecture series designed to help young filmmakers understand the significant impact music can have in their projects and show them the benefits of working with a film composer.

In his free time Reynolds enjoys golfing, cabinet making and coaching his kids sports teams. With the help of his son Jack, he created a PGA Tour-style yardage book and greens guide which is currently for sale in the pro shop at his local golf club. He designed and built the studio desk and the sound diffusion in his studio as well as desks and diffusers for few others. As a coach he helped lead the West LA girls softball team to multiple district championships (those banners hang forever baby!).

David and his wife Pam have two kids, Jack and Ally. David and Pam live and work in Los Angeles.
